Opportunity for:

What is the research about?

We are seeking Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) contributors to join a new policy-focused research initiative led by the Health Access Research Collaborative (HARC). This project explores equity, access, and inclusion in the management of chronic health conditions, with a particular focus on participation in health improvement programmes.

The research aims to understand the barriers that individuals from diverse backgrounds may face when accessing support or treatment. These might include limited availability of information in multiple languages, lack of awareness about existing services, or other systemic and logistical challenges.

The project will also gather insights from healthcare providers across the region to identify gaps and highlight efforts already underway to improve accessibility and inclusion.

We are looking to involve a small group of 1 to 5 PPI contributors. We welcome people with a variety of relevant lived experiences, including:

  • Individuals living with long-term health conditions

  • Carers or family members of individuals managing such conditions

  • People from underserved, underrepresented, or marginalised communities

PPI contributors may be involved in:

  • Participating in an advisory group and research steering committee

  • Reviewing public-facing materials for clarity and inclusiveness

  • Helping to shape research questions based on lived experience

  • Supporting the creation of lay summaries and helping share project outcomes

Your perspective will ensure that this research stays grounded in the real needs of those it aims to support.
